Co-operation > Welcome

Internationally, Flanders is one of the economic turntables of Europe. Transport and transport logistics are major sectors.

Similarly, Hungary can be seen as an economic turntable in Central Europe, located at the crossroads of a number of major transport axes. Its role as a transit nation will become increasingly important in Europe.

Over the past few years, Flemish public authorities have signed co-operation agreements with Hungarian partners to join forces in the area of transport and transport logistics.
One such partner is waterway manager the NV Zeekanaal en Watergebonden Grondbeheer Vlaanderen, which manages the Sea Canal Brussels-Scheldt and in 1999 signed a co-operation agreement with the Hungarian inland port of Győr-Gönyű.

This website provides more information on the how and why of this agreement. It is also a source of practical information for companies with an interest in collaborating with the port of Győr-Gönyű.
